Freddie Gibbs Confirms Departure From Young Jeezy’s Label

Freddie Gibbs is no longer signed to Young Jeezy’s record label. In an interview with Power 105’s “The Breakfast Club” today, the Babyfaced Killa confirmed that he has amicably parted ways with Corporate Thugz Entertainment.

“It was a mutual decision,” Gibbs said. “It was a number of things [that caused the split] but at the end of the day it was a good decision for myself and my family. It wasn’t nothing against him or anything, it was just a move that I had to make both personally and business wise.”

Gibbs first signed to CTE in April 2011. He released the street albums Cold Day in Hell and Baby Face Killa via the label in 2011 and 2012, respectively.

“I’m not one of them guys that sit back and be bitter,” Gibbs said of keeping a peaceful relationship with Jeezy after the split. “This don’t define me. It’s just a move that I’ve gotta make in my career. Players get traded and go to different teams all the time… we just move in different ways, so it’s best that he goes his way and I go my way. It is what it is.” is your #1 source for Black celebrity news, photos, exclusive videos and all the latest in the world of hip hop and RB music.
